Default Infinity?

Hello to one and all.

First off, great site. been reading plenty and although i'm taking my time it's starting to sink in.

I've got a chipped samsung VM/N*L box and my 'contact' for rechipping the card has gone bye bye so I wanna try it myself - It's a fun card 4!!!!!!!!

I understand that I need a card programmer and have checked out the inifinty range as they seem to be the most widely mentioned.

My question is - What the difference between the Infinity USB Phoenix and the Infinity USB Unlimited???

Is one easier to use? or should I look at any other programmers!

I've seen a few others but i'm not 100% sure if they'll work with funcard4 and i don't want to waste money. -

Infinity USB unlimited
Duolabs Dynamite sat card programmer
Infinity USB (phoenix compatible)

Any help would be grateful.

Cheers

Geo99

PS - as a fish outta water here, is there anything else i need? Software, Hardware?

Cheers for the reply jimbo!

its a fun card 4 mate.

I've been reading stuff on here all day and my heads melted!

i've got the IRD numbers and the box key on the card but i don't know what programmer to get.

I've read it's pretty straight forward so i'm looking to give it a go!!!

The Infinity unlimited is the later model and can programme in phoenix mode using just the USB connection.
The Infinity USB Phoenix connects using a serial cable and USB cable, the serial cable is used for programming in Phoenix mode. If your computer/laptop has a dedicated Com port this is a good programmer.
You might also consider the Cas 3 plus, a programmer that can programme both cards, and cams, using just the USB connection, although this programmer is more useful for satellite users.

Only the Infinity Unlimited is capable of programming in phoenix mode using only the USB cable.
If you have the Infinity Unlimited model you need to put it in Virtual Com Port mode, VCP.
This is from memory and I shall try to find more details of the procedure.
