Default Virgin Broadband Problem.

I've been having problems with connection speeds over the last couple of days on both my pc and mac. Everything connected seems to be working ok. We have been downloading quite a bit this last 2 week, and I just wondered if Virgin could deliberatlely slow down your connection speed to prevent this? Iam on the 2meg package with supposedly unlimited downloads. Any help please...

Hi you have hit it in one they do slow down the connection after 5pm. you can still download as much as you want but just have to wait longer if you have a look at there site and read the terms they have amended it . but i was also told this by a virgin employee.

Hi, yes we are the cable connection. Last night I didn't get any problems for the short time I was online, so hopefully it was a blip, but I'd still like to know if making so many downloads (approx 5meg) in 2 weeks would cause virgin to slow down my connection so much that it was slower than the slowest dial-up?

Read up on their traffic management - you have a very small limit between 4pm and midnight, hit that and you are severely capped for 4 hours.

Thanks for that! I'll bear that in mind in future. At least I know now!
