UBR's
The more I look in to this the more questions I get !
 I got my mate to visit the GRC webpage to find out his UBR address to compare it to mine. His was in a totally differetn format. I am ex NTL he is ex blueyonder. Could we still swap MACS? or would I need an NTL one |

You need one from the same Franchise area, he is obviously in a different Franchise to you, so you cannot swap.
