Hi Milli

I have recently done just what your asking. I done this using a Skystar2 PCI card from Ebay about £45. A cheap 80 cm satellite dish and LNB from aldi (wish I 'd got a bigger one) approx £20. So all in all I have a system that can receive football, films and all other manner of stuff for about £70.

If you do take the plunge and build the system the people on this site are very friendly and helpful to us newbies and will walk you through the setup of you gear if you need it.

No the skystar2 does not have a card slot and yes you can use ProgDVB however I tend to use ALTDVB as it is more stable. ProgDVB has a tendancy to crash alot.

I think you might be able to get a card reader for the Skystar, I'm sure I read it somewhere

I have heard something about using a card programmer to read cards but have never followed it up as I don't have a card. By the way Milli you might find dvbdream a better option than progdvb or altdvb especially if you run vista

I HAVE BEEN GETTING FILMS AND STREAMING FOOTBALL FROM THE INTERNET FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW. WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO TELL ME OR DIRECT ME TO THE SOURCE OF THE FOR-MENTIONED INFORMATION IN A MORE BASIC STEP BY STEP GUIDE. I AM MORE INTERESTED IN RECIEVEING THE PREMIERSHIP CHAMP LEAGUE FOOTBALL ON MY TV IN THE EASIEST WAY POSSIBLE. CHEERS ANYONE
