help needed after jtag

hi all this is my first post here
i have a eurovox max 3 blue box
well one day i switch on and only had 2 green dots
so read on forums about jtag
so i bought the thing and relashed the tosp
now i cant find the right software to flash the other chip with dnupman
i found the latest version but that didnt work
all i got when switch on was 0001
thats it would switch on and off thats all
this is a genuine box with an st chip
any advice please before i throw it throught the window

You need to follow the steps below after Jtagging first:

Connect your EV to the TV via the RF connection (top middle connection at the back)
Tune in a spare channel on the TV until you see the 4 box's requesting a PIN number (just like the way you would tune in a Video recorder).
Type in 1004
Go into the 'Menu', and do a Factory Reset.

You will then be able to use the EV via the SCART cable and download all you want.

this is a blue box, and definatly genuine as far as you can tell

yes its a blue box bought about 18mnths ago had a look inside and genuine as far as i can tell from photos on net

Which Tsop file did you use when you Jtagged the box, was it the Blue Tsop file??, if not this could be your problem.

ok have just read a thread which tells me i might be doing the wrong tsop it says the chip is next to the reset button i was looking at the very big chip which had st written on it
the smaller chip next to the reset button has this written on it
spansion with a blob of yellow paint am i looking at the right chip

Don't worry about looking at the board to find out which chip you have, all you need to know is if it's a Blue box (tuner 12 slots long) you need to use the file EV_MAX_BLUE_190207 which is 2mb in size.
If it's a Red box (tuner 8 slots long) use EV_MAX_RED_07 which is also 2mb in size.

ok am giving this one more go before it goes in the bin
have flashed with the prog for the blue box and all seemed to go well didnt come up with any errors or fail messages
when i switched on 2 dots for a few second then the 4 dashes then 12:00 then when i switched box on all that comes on the box is 0001
so what is the next step after this
sorry to be a bit slow but this is all new to me and at my age it takes a while hehehe
i presume use dupman but which prog
