Default Turksat.

Hi all!

My local corner shop owner has just bought a 1.2m triax with a technomate mtr and reciever and wants me to install it!.

He would like to be able to tune in to turksat and wondered if this was possible from the uk?

I have tried to find the satellite footprint thread but cant

Any pointers most appreciated!

Jason.

Hi niceguy,

Is this what you are looking for, click on links in the beam column.

Türksat 1C/2A at 42.0°E - LyngSat

If that's the correct one, picking it up should be easy, I can even get that.

So you are an installer now?

Robbo

The pics havent been put back yet after the forum merge - its on the list of "things to do" when Ive got a few minutes.

You will get the west beam channels off Turksat 1C & Eurasiasat 1 no problem, but you can forget any idea of getting the east beam channels

@niceguy

Well, I've only got my dish motorised east at the moment. When the gardener has been and chopped down a few trees, I will be going for the full arc at the bottom of my garden, so if I get any problems Jase, I'll know where to come to get them fixed. for the offer.

No, joking aside, as you already know, once you understand what is supposed to be happening, and how it works, there is not too much to it. And doing your own installation is the best way to find out the pitfalls.

Ta all.

I have got no idea why he asked me to put it up, especially as i kept going in there moaning that i couldn't get mine set up right.

Anyhow, after doing what the pros call, a 'site survey', i came to the conclusion that to get a clearish view, it would need to be installed waaaaayy up the top of the house, and this, i aint gonna do.

So if anyone wants a trip to the south coast to install it for him the let me know and ill pass on your details

Jas.
