Well don't forget that it's a Dell, so probably won't last me more than about 5 months longer!

Here it is:
1.6Ghz Pentium M 2Mb L2 Cache
1024Mb 533Mhz DDR2 Ram
60Gb 7200Rpm HDD
DVD-/who knows what else\+RW
15.4" WSXGA (1680x1050) TFT
128Mb Dedicated Mobility Radeon X300
Bluetooth & Wireless

But I have to say that Sony have definately improved the specs & lowered their prices in the last year, would've bought one of those if they'd been around when I got the Dell!

Very nice!!

Certainly powerful enough to rival desktops . But the 17" wouldn't be suitable for me as I use mine a lot more in classes and on the bus sometimes so size and battery are important for me, I don't want my mains cable running half way across the classroom all the time!!

Nice one. Also better than mind. I had two laptops. Both are weaker than your.

I am in the market for a new laptop to do mobile work. My current lap top is very old and very very small. Which is nice, but I want one of a usuable size. I love the monitor space on that box. I also want a nearly full-sized keyboard. I plan on doing a lot of writing on mine, so it really needs to be close to a PC usuability. I can not suffer tiny keyboards, goofy mousepads and small screens.

The only thing that concerns me from what is said about this one is the battery life. Can you get a longer battery? I also do not like very short battery times. I know I am so demanding.
