You could go down the route of a eurovox, dbox, starview etc as I assume you also mean without any other various cardtypes that currently work with cable, yes?

Yes a card programmer, if all you'll do is funs then a funprom or somesuch'll do. Dunno where from though.

It will give you all the channels minus video on demand unless you enable talkback on your box

i belive an led on the front of your stb flashes continuously when talkback is disabled. theres a few tutorials on how to do it. depends which stb you've got.
