Unhappy Things are quieter now

I think the sat-help forum has died a little from the changeover.
I waited to see what happened when the forum's merged before voicing an opinion, but I am disappointed with the new one.
Sorry Brian, but Sat and Cable don't mix IMO, different needs, different culture.
Posted a Question on the the cable front and got very little help. ie go to the download section and you'll find everything you'll need.
Ask a question to BGonastick and you'll get a walk thru, from BG or any of the mod's a la nano, jim de fruit, analoguesat, robbo, yorks, crossbones, wod etc etc.
Not sure if this right for me now.
Sorry if this is upsetting but SH was the place for me, had loads of fun, even a **** up with the Stick man and treading over past music ventures meant it was all worthwhile.
Don't feele the same now, but would like to.
Regards.

Hi barr,

Apart from L. all the SH mods are still here. But I know what you mean, it has got a little quieter. But it was expected that there would be a little bit of a lull after the merger. All I can say, is that the SH part of the forum is being run exactly the same as it was before, with the same intentions.

I was thinking the same thing, all that ever appears when you click on new posts is Cable, PC and the Lounge. I'm beginning to think it was a bad idea merging the 2 sites

Hi barr, give the combined forum a few more weeks to gel - the old SH mods & admins are still very busy putting the images back in the most important threads and its going to be a while until everything beds in correctly and we can get back to the old "hold the newbies hands and walk them through their problems" of the good old days (no disrespect meant to any new folks joining the hobby - we were all beginners once) .. Due to the size of the merger its going to take time before everyone finds their feet and their niche so to speak.

I guarantee another fun filled p!ss up with loads of lunacy on New Years Eve as we "Chase Midnight 2007-8" (just like last year) so if you are around please join us for some good sat fun just like the good old days (I also guarantee we will take over most of the new forum that day... )

Unfortunately it was getting to the point of merging or closing SH - with the merger way at least we still have the forum in some shape.. There may be a way of filtering the displayed posts - I know its done on some of the other forums, so I'll have a play when Ive got a few minutes and see what I can work out (or get the boss to work out! )

OK, I still appreciate all thats given from all members, but I feel that we've lost the family feel.
I'm about to go and bury my old pal who died at the weekend from a blood clot and was only 45 years old.
I think the old SH site would've helped me thru , but seems the family feel is not on here?
If I'd said that on SH I, feel it was a personal thing, with each member giving their own thoiughts.
Only my opinion though?
Regards

We're all still here buddy. I think that maybe one or two guys have been a bit busy with work commitments and doing stuff behind the scenes on here. Pehaps everyone needs to be a bit more vocal.

On a sadder note I'm gutted to hear your news mate. No wonder you are felling a bit down. My feelings are with you and all who knew your pal. Hang on to the happy times buddy. No one can take those from you.

God Im a clever Analoguesat! (And modest too!) Ive been poking around in dusty corners of the forum again and doing some forum search comparisons across various sites

Its not perfect but it works. This link will exclude **most** of the cable related stuff for anyone who doesnt want to see it (Well the busiest 5 subsections anyway)
