Hi all,
Just got my Eurovox in yesterday and it set up fine bringing in 130 channels. The question I have is about quality of the picture. Where it is fine it just doesn't seem to match the quality of picture coming in from the Pace box. Is this normal or I have I done something wrong? It's not as if I can't watch them or there is anything obvious, just that the picture seems a bit more blocky or pixelated than what I had on the Pace. I'm using a 40" LCD so I know that tends to highlight the defects a bit more. |

Have you split the feed? i.e. do you now have a feed going off to your pace and another one going to your Eurovox or have you just taken the pace away and put the eurovox on the end of the cable?
If you have introduced a splitter then it may be the quality of your splitter or new length of cable (and/or adaptor) you are using. Signal strength on your Eurovox of 80%+ should see a good picure. Cheers Rick |

No I haven't split the feed. Just replaced the Pace Box with the Eurovox one. Like for like. I think the signal strength is above the 80%.
The channels are fine and I can watch them and pick up what I should be picking up. It's just the detail of the picture is not as good as what I was getting. It's like watching a dvd rip where the rip has lost a bit of quality somewhere in the process. Now it's just minor but I notice it. So I was wondering if there is a way of handling this. I have read before that the Pace box does work better off weaker signals than some of the other cable boxes. May be the reason they are used. As I said, I have an LCD so using a CRT, I know there probably wouldn't be any difference at all. |

I thought slightly reduced picture quality was normal, I know my Eurovox doesn't display the picture anywhere near as well as the Virgin sub box especially on certain channels such as Disney and Sky Sports. I can live with it, its just the price you pay for what you get.

I have since found that the frequncies on the pace may have been about 500 out of what the Eurovox picks up on. At least that's referencing the list on the sticky above. I changed some of them and it improves it a bit but there still seems to a bit more noticeable pixellation in the background. The one thing is that my software is date as Sep 6th so I'll check if that is older than it needs to be.

I should update this. I updated the firmware and it looks great. One other issue I did wrong was mixing up the vcr and tv connections. So I think I was passing the signal through the dvr before it hit the cable box and that was effecting the quality. Thanks for the help.
