Default Embarrassing Question

This is so basic I'm embarrassed to ask but it's driving me mad.

Just bought a new laptop. Thought I'd be clever and get a 17" widescreen. However, the font size on 1900xwhatever resolution means webpages are small due to it being widescreen.

When I change the resolution to anything less, it increases the font size but the quality of the screen is rubbish, like enlarging a small sized image beyond it's natural look.

Any other ways for me to resolve this?

Dell Windows Vista.

If you're using Internet Explorer 7, as your browser, you can increase the text size by zooming in.
An easy way to do this is to use the shortcut, Press CTRL and + keys, on your keyboard, to zoom out again press CTRL and - key.
If this doesn't help, please post back. as there are other options, and tell us which browser you are using.

you can increase the font size permanently on IE.
But I don't know how you do it on IE 7, anyone?

Also works with a scroll mouse - hold CTRL and scroll whichever way suits your font size best.
