Default New DBox2

The DBox2 I've purchased is quite old and has recently started freezing (the channel im watching freezes but if change channel it's ok however if i change back to the channel that was frozen it doesn't show for about 10 to 30 secs). So I have a couple of questions:

1, is there any sort of new dbox2 with all the features plus maybe hdd recording etc?

2, any recommendation on how to fix the freezing?

3, is there meant to be quick channel finding in quite a new neutrino image where you can seleect your area? if so it doesn't work for me (any idea on how to resolve that?) I can select an area but that doesn't find the channels I still have to scan.

4, this one is pitiful but been nagging me for a while, is there any way to use the virgin central tv on demand thru the dbox? (it uses the colour buttons on the normal VBox/Remote)

Thanks for any help I know I'm asking a lot, sorry!

The dreamboxes are quite similar to the d-box, look for the DM600PVR.

When you put a new image on the d-box and set your location, it will background scan for changes and new channels (if it's switched on). You still need to fast scan or import channels to start with.

Most Dreambox images are Enigma rather than Neutrino based, I'm not sure if they have background scanning or not. It's a long time since I've had a play with a Dreambox.

hi m8
what img are you using at the moment i heard that using gbox camd can help with freezing channels hope this helps try the new ferret img in the downloads this has the set my location option for scanning aswell as gbox

as for the dreambox500c i have one and my only complaint is that the tuner is not as good as the dbox some channels are not available unless you connect a booster.if i was going for somthing new i would try dreambox 600c with built in hard drive for recording.
cheers johny48

on your remote control press the red button and then the blue and you should have 3 readings the middle one should be above 57000 or your picture will freeze, if it is below just get a booster.
