Default NEW TO STARVIEW-Loads of probs

hi newbie with starview can any one help me as i have telewest/virginmedia now as provider have done a auto scan of channels from installation option found all 220 channels but only some show all others are either blank or scrambled or bad channel comes up on screen version on box is API ver :2.57 e_E Boot ver : 7.0 16.Aug 2006 is this latest version and if not how do i go about downloading update to box ,do i have to do a factory reset and if so what wil happen to all channels will i do a full rescan after factory reset or do i have to re install software from pc....please please please can someone .out there help

welcome to techwatch dude, the answer to your troubles has actually been answered many times on this forum, please use the search button to find it. i know i have answered to it at least once before. It does get a bit boring answering the same questions over and over again
