Start of a journey of discovery

Thought it polite to introduce myself.

Having just embarked on my new journey of discovery to purchase a cable receiver, I came across your forum and decided I'd best register as I'm certain I'll be needing your advice at sometime in the near future.

I'm a member of countless forums, ranging from personal weather stations to Fiat Multiplas, but apart from having zero taste in cars, it could be noted I'm probably the least likely member to post, as usually somebody gets there before me. I am though, highly proficient at using search facilities and extolling the benefit of forums to anyone who may listen.

Reading through the posts I'm beginning to get an idea of the equipment I want, and having got past the first hurdle of getting the wife to agree, everything else should be plain sailing... if only!

Looking forward to gaining as much as possible from the group, to make my educated purchase and hopefully being able to give something back.
