OK i have a box showing Kein System and need to reflash using IFA!!!

However i cant get IFA to connect to the box at all. I understand that its possible using a crossover cable only and that the serial cable isnt required?

I have set a static IP to my PC, disabled all AV and Firewalls, disabled any other ethernet cards.

Im at a loss. Can anyone suggest anything?

There is a website out there that charge £45 to fix these mate if you dont know what your doing like

Hi mate ifa can take few attempts to connect just keep trying
1***connect your crossover cable and make sure your box is not connected to mains at this point
2***start ifa and press next choose the image you want to instasll and you are not using null modem cable so tick no
3***now press start at this point you will get a message box with some writing just press ok now you are ready to connect your box to mains if you are lucky you will get flashing on your lcd if not repeat the last step keep connectin and diconnecting the box to mains till you get flashing on lcd

Above instructions are accurate, mine for whatever reason required I had both null modem and xover cable for it to upload the new image

Go figure.

Hi i have never used nullmodem cable when using ifa for flashing sagem and nokia and i have done a few some people do recomend use of nullmodem cable

i have flashed 2 sagem dbox2's with ifa the first 1 connected straight from my pc the 2nd would only connect when it went thru my router maybe you could try going thru a router and see if you have any joy

Are you using vista? i couldnt get it to work either when i was using vista. XP worked a dream, switching on and off is essential. Good luck.
