Default SL65 and DisEqc Motor

Hi,

I have the receiver SL65 bougth in Lidl in Belgium on August 2007.

All is working fine but I have a lot of difficulties to set-up correctly a motor (HH100).

I 've tried setting-up the USALS mode, working not always at 100%, sometimes the dishes not move from the channel list but move from the setup menu

If I try the DisEqc 1.2 mode, less success. I can manually move the dish for some satellites but for some other the dish not move (move East or West with the remote).

I even try an update from astra but not working.

If I want to add a satelling in USALS I don't have the menu to setup the satellite position. I saw it on the software but it's buggy. If I transfert the receiver data to my PC, all channels are missing their 2 first letters (IE: BBC 1 -> C 1 / Cinema Channel => nema Channel).
If I try to send back the data to the receiver, I receive an error message like "Invalid or unknown flash type" or something near to that.

Here is my setup screens:

In usals, the sat position is always 0.0 and I can't find any way (except via computer program) to change the satellite position.

So, How can I set-up the receiver to make it work with my motor without any problems.

Why sometimes the motor is not moving in the channel list but work in the setup menu or vice-versa ?

Thanks.

Hi re_volter and welcome to Techwatch.

I am not very familiar with the firmware on your receiver, but I think there is another menu that you can access if you select usals with cursor and press ok. This may be in the Satellite Setup menu. This should allow you to enter the sat position (currently 0,0,) for each sat. Also you will need to enter the local longitude and latitude coordinates for your location.

Hope this helps.

I don't find any menu for changing satelites positions. I can only enter my latitude and longitude.

Why the computer program is not working (would be much easy) ????

What happens if you press'OK" on the last picture where you have it highlighted Yellow?

Also as Yorks says, USALs won't work unless your lat and long are correct.

Hello, My lat and longs values are correctly setup. I took the screen before setting them.

When I press OK on the last pictures, I got a drop down menu with the list of all satellites present in the decoder.
On the add satellite menu, I can setup the satellite name and the diseqc settings but not it's position

What about if you press button '2' (A jouter) in the 'antenna config' ( your first picture)
to add a new satellite, can you do it there.?

No, I can only change the satellite name. No options for its position.

So for now, I tried to set the DisEqC mode instead of usals. I have a strange problem. Sometimes the motor works sometimes not. Works in the setup menu but not working of channel list or it's not moving at all (like if the signal was lost in the cable).

This cable was originally connected to an analog received without any motor. Then I replaced it by a digital receiver (was Ok until I use only one satellite). Then I added a motor and now the problems occurs. Is it possible that the problem is due to a bad cable ?

My cable length is about 12-13 meters.

Are you using the original firmware that came with this receiver? I still think that if you press the <ok> button when USALS is selected there is a sub menu.

As far as using DisEqC 1.2 positioning, it is strange that your problem seems to be intermittent. I would disable the DisEqC 1.0 switching if you are using DisEqC 1.2 positioning - that could be causing a conflict. It could also be a poor connection to either Lnb or receiver. Look here if you are unsure of how to remake the connection.

Yes, I'm using the original firmware. Updates from satellite not work. I got always a download error.

When I press the OK key on the USALS menu, I receive a new one to enter my latitude and logitude. But no menu to add satellite longitude (only change satellite name and add transponders).

Is this possible that's because my cable (from the analog receiver is too thin ??) inner core is about 0,5-0,6 mm width (for 12-13 meters of cable) ??????

It may not solve your problem, but it doesn't sound like you have proper satellite cable, it may even not be 75 ohm impedance.

In order to discount a problem with the cable, I suggest you replace it with the proper stuff.

Here are the specifications of the '100' type cable you should be using:

I use wf100
