A Cam is a Conditional Access Module, and the two best multi cams, at the moment, are the Diablo and the Dragon/T-Rex.
To program the Diablo you will require a Cas programmer, I recommend the Cas 3 +, as this can program cards, and cams.
Things are about to change, as the current accessed Nagravision 2 packages, are about to upgrade their encryption, to Nagravision 3, and we are unsure what channels will be available to us following this change.
You can also get patchable receivers that can do the same job as the multi cams.
We can provide more useful information if you provide us with a little more information.
What receiver have you got.
Where is your general location, e.g. north west England.
What size dish have you got and which satellites can you receive.

Hi,
I am in the flat lands of lincolnshire, with a 85cm dish, I have not programmed in all sats yets, but get thor, sirius, the eutelsat's, hotbird, the astra's, arabsat. Will be able to get more but not tuned them in yet. I have a technomate 5200D and just purchased a multicard reader (plug and play). I am mainly after the baltic/russsian channels for the missus, and any sport for myself.

Not sure what I really all need for this? Any help and advice welcome.

Thanks

As Micha has pointed out we are entering a transition period. TV Cabo has gone to Nagravision 3, D+ is doing so as we type! As you are able to patch your receiver it may be better to do that for now. If you are interested in purchasing an official viewing card then look here for details :-

I am quite happy to patch, where would I be able to download some patches that may benefit what I am looking for?

Slight problem with that receiver, if you wanted a CAM, it hasn't got a socket to plug a CAM into. You needed the TM1500CI+ or just released the TM5400CI+.

You can still get patched though.

Heres a guide for the TM1000 series to give ou an idea, although I imagine the procedure for the 5200 is slightly different as it has a usb slot.

Patching your Technomate 1000 series

It also tells you where to get the patch from.
