Edision/Smart EMU coming?

Just a heads up: from my reading of zackyfiles it looks like the esteemed Santiphreack is working on adapting the firmware of the Edision Tyran/Smart MX04 to work on the SL65 B1. Apparently the Edision has better support than Truman, which is pretty damn good anyway! I could be wrong, though

It's exactly what you are saying Sol. The next version of Ali_Fixer will include the option of modify the Edision Tyran's firm in order to work on our fantastic SL65. according to Santi has even better support than the Truman .
I must say that I'm not unhappy at all with the Truman. The only bad thing is the fact that sometimes it doesn't clear T P S (usually during morning's period).
By this way it will also appear a Dreambox mod.... lolol

I too am very happy with my 'Truman', but I like to play so I may well give the Edision FW a try if things appear to go well. With D+ starting to go black as a sign of things to come, I think we are soon going to feel the need for the most up-to-date FW for our little box.

Do you know where is the best place for Edision (unofficial) support?

With a quick Google I found a forum satportal.to that has lots of active threads and plenty of downloads. It's in German.

I also happened across a site that is claiming to have N*gra3 keys for Edision, but I assume that is just a lure to get you to download a virus or something.

Update: It seems that Santi is having big problems getting the SL65 remote to work with the Edision FW, so anyone going down this road would be well advised to bide their time until a fix is found, or make sure they have a universal remote to hand!

This has now been sorted, in the form of SL65_B1_Masterpiece downloadable from sat-ulc. It's a bit experimental, so keep that Jtag cable handy - not for beginners.

Rather than repeat everything here, the main English support thread is on Maiden's satboard - satboard dot uk dot to.

It's all working very nicely. Menus are better than Truman, with working Options key for the Pr*mi*r* portals, more Favourites lists etc. It will import SatcoDX data apparently. There's a key editor that can import a softcam.key and convert it, or you can edit directly with the remote (bit fiddly because it uses the mobile keypad method of getting letters a-f and numbers 1-9). It's AU'ing swiftly at the moment, though, so I hope I don't need to do much editing. EPG seems to work better, too.

All in all, very happy with the change from Truman.

how did you flash it via jtag or rs232 ?
