Default buying a new motorised system

hi i would be glad of any advise on choosing a new motorised system. i am looking at two systems. first is a funke1.0m technomate motorised dish kit with disqc motor. the second one is a triax td 88 90cm dish with a jaeger 99g 36v H H motor. i have a technomate tm-5500ci receiver and a v box diseqc positioner. i will have to set it up myself. i would be gratefull for any advise. thanks nudger.

Hi Nudger, welcome to Techwatch

Seeing as you already have a 'V' box positioner, I would recommend using the 99G 36v motor. I use the 128 H H motor, which is basically a clone of the 99G, and it's performed quite well, even with a heavy 1m channel master dish on it.

They are quite a bit faster than a DiSEqC to, taking around 12 secs from 28E to 30W, compared with around 30 secs for the DiSEqC.

The DiSEqC has the advantage of only needing the one cable though, as it's all powered by the same coax that supplies you're signal.

It's a pity you couldn't get the 99G with the Funke dish, or another 1m, as same as most things size is everything

I think you can get the Funke with that motor but it comes with this horrible adapter that allows you to mate that dish with the 99G motor

The Triax is quite a good dish though and should serve you well for a lot of years

Kev

yes go with the 36volt motor i have the jaeger smr 99 motor and its very good for the money.

how will the dish be installed, as if it can be ground mounted you could spend the extra and buy a very nice 1metre andrews with a jaeger 1224 motor, mship can tell you about those as he has one

I would go for the Triax TD110 dish - cheap, light and good performer.
