Question euro vox v confused

Hi all
just about to purchase a new black box, had a blue one for nearly 2 years and more than happy, so decided that I would get 2 more for other rooms. Anyway did some searching on this forum and got a bit twitchy with reports of boxes going down due to software so rang the supplier. He reckons to stick with sept. issue of software as the oct 15 software was the problem,though he did say that the beta 2 (end of oct release) seemed ok but basically Beta software is a trial software that people report back problems with so they can be ironed out.
So in a nutshell which software should I use Normally wouldn't be 2 bothered but also getting a couple for friends who aren't local so dont want hassle of having to be posting boxes back and forth to re flash.
Any help would be greatly apprieciated

I always supply boxes with the latest firmware installed, currently the Beta2. It has much better Wide-screen handling than the earlier firmwares and has the option to switch a booster on for weaker signal area's.

Hi,
I have Beta2 on mine with no problems whatsoever. I upgraded mine from the sept version because of the widescreen option - hope this helps.

beta 2 here also with no problems, i prefer this over the sept firmware
