Hello everyone. I had a problem with having lost the Five Channels and the problem was diagnosed as some water in the cable or age of the cable. SInce it was not possible to change the cable, i had to install a new dish albeit a smaller 90cms one in my balcony with a very short lead running from it. Now I am getting all the channels but the quality of the picture is very bad. If I leave the picture setting to RGB the quality improves a lot but certain channels on Eurobird freeze, and when I set the picture quality to PAL there is no loss of signal or freezing but the picture is terrible. What should I do in this situation ? The installer suggested that there is a age problem with the SKY BOX (Panasonic TU 31) and I should upgrade it at the earliest. Can someone please let me know if this is correct or should I look into something else to improve the picture ? If I do upgrade my SKYBOX I was planning to get a HD+ box, any negatives on that ? Thanks a lot for your replies.

I can only suggest trying someone else's Sky box on you're dish, this would at least let you know if it's just a problem with you're box. If you do this, please post back what you're results are
![]() I don't think the HD boxes are any better or worse than the standard boxes, the only negative being the extra £10 per month it'll cost you. Plus, if you have multi room you'll only get HD on the one box, unless you upgrade and pay the extra £10 for each other box. Kev EDIT: Just checked on another forum and it seems the HD boxes have a very high failure rate, with some owners reporting to be on their 5th box in as many months ![]()

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I live in Poland and there are very few people around with Sky and I unfortunately have no access to them. I have to look for guidance and advice on this and other forums. |

Right, OK. Well maybe you could try another, non Sky receiver
As long as it's not restricted to a certain provider (like the Sky boxes more or less are) then you should be able to pick up FTA channels off Eurobird. I can't really help much more than that I'm afraid, although it does sound like it's a receiver fault to me ![]() ![]() Kev
