well it came today and well so far its much better than the technomate 1500 i have.
i got the model x221tsci, which has 2 cam, 2 card slots and dvb-t tuner also just have it setup on astra 1 so far as its a bit windy outside to store other sats doing an auto search on the satellite, amazed me as 19east must have what 100 tps and it scanned them in like 4 minutes, my tm 1500 takes longer than that. picture quality is very good on both satellite and freeview. size wise its about the same size of the technomate which is good. i see it can be patched but not got to that, one thing that interested me is apparantly it can read uk sat cards and keep them working. wod

Sounds good.
Being able to read a SKY card ( I assume) is a big bonus. I would be interested to know how the patches compare also. Terrestrial TV to! How much are they going for at the moment? Keep us posted. ![]() |

uk sat card i can confirm works as just tried this morning, there is some issue though as channels work then sometimes popup the message "scramble channel"
terrestrial channels are listed in the same menu as a the satellite list under Terrestrial so its easy to switch to say itv4 if the football was on or whatever BBC I text doesn't work or any text on the freeview channels but that doesn't bother me as it scans the extra channels in bbc use for the interactive stuff some pics of the menus etc

been using this now for a few weeks and i can say this receiver is very good. i would recommend it.
after using a technomate 1500ci for nearly a year i prefer the vantage, it beats the technomate easily. now i wonder why i didn't buy it sooner the uk sat card is working great and it works fine with 3 satellite official cards in the slots and cam with no issues at all

Thanks for the review wod.
Great that it reads sky cards and free view all in one box! ![]()

It doesn't look like its PVR capable though, so its difficult to understand how you could record on one and watch the other. We didn't disbelieve that the Vantage was better, we just wanted someone who had one to give us the low-down. A good choice I reckon based on what wod has reported so far. ![]() |
