Hi Tammac,
I'm in Paisley, not so far from you and I have a Technomate 1000D Super (patched) running off a former Maplin's dish, which I think is 65 cm. My house faces South. I get BBC1 Scotland at 78% on 28.2E so a very stable picture and sound and even when it's blowing, as it has this week, I've had no break-up at all. The trick, as has been said, is to secure your signal and then make tiny adjustments, both to the horizontal and vertical position of the dish. Another trick is to rotate the LNB in its socket for maximum signal strength. I have a second, larger dish, 90cm for Hotbird and Astra, but a different box which updates fine on both, so no issues with the remote going on strike, except when using the subtitle control. The solution here is to use the "Language" button ont he control instead and subtitles can be turned off and on using that menu. So for my setup, it's either subtitle button working and no patch, or the other way round which is preferable. Hope that might give you some ideas.
