How can someone find out if a Starview box is cloned?

my clone starview box keeps saying BAD OR SCRAMMBLED CHANNEL emu is on but when i come out of all menus and turn over channel the guide is there saying bbc1 ut appears with the above.. also on the back of the box where the s/pdlf is no RED light comes on any one help thanks dave

ive ended up purchasing the new Kryptview box... they so much better than any other boxes, thanks to all the guys on this site, been questioning which box to get...

finally i got the perfect one...

would recommend it to anyone

if you look through the vents ontop of the box ,look for the heatsink which is a square aluminium shape,if the top of the heatsink is spiked u have a clone

you cant tell by the position of the scarts as on the second generation starview they were on the opposite side to the first generation

if u have a cloned starview there is an auto updating file kicking about called 257eefixed that will keep your box working
