Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could offer a bit of advice with changing up my setup. Currently I have: cable into house | Splitter | rf into video and signal into Dbox | dbox to scart in on video | rf out and scart out to dvd hard drive recorder | rf out to 2 way booster, one is sent to tv beside dbox, the other is sent to tv 70ft away scart from dvd recorder is sent to scart in on tv beside dbox the diagram is pretty pathetic but hoepfully it's understandable. Originally I had the 2nd tv wired to the booster by normal coax cable, the picture was just ok. Last weekend I decided that I want to upgrade everything and get it working properly once and for all. I went to maplin and bought their most expensive low loss satellite cable along with a new slx booster but i'm still getting noise on the tv and i'm getting ghosting on the tv at the dbox. is this becuase i'm splitting the cable signal to use for channels 1-5 as well as the dbox or is the booster i bought just totally rubbish. do i need a distribution box rather than a booster? or are they actually the same thing? some american sites talk about using them but i cant seem to find anyone from the uk using them. i've just ordered myself a eurovox too, so i'm going to try and split this signal 3 ways so that i can watch different channels upstairs. all help would be much appreciated. Just having a quick look - you may be able to get rid of your first splitter. The d-box has a loopthrough, so you should be able to feed RF from the D-box to your video. The splitter could then be used for feeding your Eurovox. I assume that you don't have a TV aerial and you're getting the analogue channels off your cable feed, I sometimes notice interference on the analogue channels if the cable feed is too strong. You may also need to check your RF channels that you introduce aren't getting interference from other signals on the Cable feed.
