Default HELP! Power Scan

Hi chaps. Today I decided to do a power scan to c if I could pick up LFC TV. After power scan I have no channels. The signal is still at 86% ish. The details of the programmes are there but no channels. When I run an autoscan it seems to get all the channels but no picture. The info bar says "Service Unknown".............

Can you help Telecom69 ????

Finally got my Eurovox worling (loads of channels and good reception)

BUT........

On putting the video, Eurovox and V****N box back where they should be in our TV cabinet, we noticed that the Virgin box is constantly on stand by (red on button not green... in other words it will not turn on !!!).

The V****N BOX displays the messege ld:20 and when you turn the Eurovox off you see the message on the TV.... YOUR DIGITAL TV SERVICE WILL START SHORTLY

Is this ok ??

Does the Eurovox bypass it and will V****N still be able to get their signal back off their box

I have set it up with a splitter and still paying subscription so they dont 'scramble' my line or anything daft

PLEASE HELP !!!

Despite the stupid smiley unplug the box from the mains for a couple of minutes then let it reboot and see if its any better ...is it by any chance a Samsung box ? if so If the box sits on LD20 or alternates between LD20 & LD30,a NID refresh hit should be sent.If this does'nt resolve the issue,a fault tech should be called out to investigate the fault, which may be a network or STB fault.
Thats from the Samsung Engineer guide.
If its not a Samsung then afraid your going to have to ring the tech help line to get it sorted ...if they cant fix it over the phone and you have to have engineer out dont forget to disconnect the eurovox and hide it ...

Thanks for getting back.

It is a Samsung box mate, ive turned off and back on again after a few minutes as you said. Same message appears (ld20)

Have i done something wrong when connecting up with my Eurovox?

Is it important to get it the V****N box back on....in other words can V****N detect there is a problem etc and get suspicious ?

Is it best to ring them up and see what they say..what do you advise ??

Cheers .. P.S No smileys this time !

Hi there, I dont really mind the smileys, its just that at first glance it looked like you were taking the mickey (I was wrong) No I dont think you have caused the problem in any way...it has a problem that they might be able to fix over the phone by sending a signal down the line or you might have to have a new box ...these boxes do have a return path to the ISP ....I dont suppose they look at individual boxes as a matter off course, but say they did, they might be wondering why you were paying for a box and not using it at the end of the day its down to you and what you think ...if it were me I would be wanting the box fixed, just to keep everything on the straight and narrow so to speak, not like its going to cost anything, except for some inconvenience perhaps.
By the way have you tried setting up the way it was without the eurovox in operation? just to make sure that the box doesnt suddenly spring back to life stranger things have happened, and I wouldnt want you calling them for no reason, because that does cost let me know the eventual outcome ...

Cheers for that. Will try and set it up as before the Eurovox soon as i can.

If it is still the same.....do you think i can ring them with the Eurovox connected for them to do what they need to do as would hate it if they fix it over the phone (without Eurovox) then i disconnect it to wire up the Eurovox back up and same thing happens ( got to do complete disconnection to put the splitter on! )

Thanks for getting back so soon...you guys are a real help

Yes I would leave it connected ....the only reason you would need to disconnect (and hide) is if you are going to have a visit from the engineer, because who knows what he will do when he comes, wouldnt think he would follow the connections but who knows? better safe than sorry dontcha think

Hi Telecom69....took it all to bits and started again and i think i had put a cable via the splitter in wrong connection on original box (dumb ass!)

Thought i had done everything ok to someones insructions but obviously hadnt !!

Was that happy that the Eurovox worked (eventually) that i didnt notice the problem with V****N box. ALL OK NOW.......yippee

Thanks for your help mate. Just before i go though, will i have to install new updates on this Eurovox Max V down the line ( if picture freezes or lose channels etc ) or does it self update?? if i do, can you tell me how to do it and where to get them off the forum site.

Thanks again...one very happy man !

Glad you got it right know well that feeling when it all comes together after problems No the box doesnt update itself regarding software, that has to be downloaded from sites via the computer ...it does sort of update something though, have you not had it happen yet when the screen freezes and a sign appears saying " updating please wait" then after a minute or so it all carries on as normal without you having any idea whats updated any way will only be too pleased to help in the future if I can....I will email you or vice versa you do the same if you have any queries...Im always here and visit this site daily..dont hesitate to ask if there is anything you want to know,if I can help,I will.....take care and all the best Bob
