The patching aspect is actually very simple with the TMs, there is a guide in the Technomate section for the TM1000 series, there really is not much to it. The 5200D is slightly different because of the USB port , but as far as I know can still be done the same way or with a USB flash drive.

Your biggest challenge will probably be getting your motorised dish to work and track the arc properly, there are a couple of guides on here for that too, plus we will help you if you need it too.

well you wont be the only one, I'm fitting a motorised system too. Although I need to cast concrete foundation first so you will probably be ahead of me. Good luck

She has to do it because I can never get it rite, I can dry mix it but when it comes to the water still swings and roundabouts, I can cook better than she can

EER.I will have to think about that one.

Nano
MaxVar is just the name given to images (primarily from the Gemini Project) that make best use of the limited amount of /var (memory) space in boxes such as the DM500 - i.e. those with less memory than the 7xxx series (and no USB port).

It's just optimised for the smaller capacity boxes. They normally do two versions, one of which is tweaked and one which isn't.
