Default Used sky card

I just got a used sky card off Ebay, its working fine as a FTA card but it keeps asking for a pin number. I haven't set up any pin numbers. If I cant get the pin from the old owner, what happens when I run out of attempt?

The PIN is locked for 10 minutes.
You also get the screen stating to call the broadcaster on(insert telephone number here),when you try to enter the PIN,the fourth time.
After 10 minutes, the PIN is unlocked i.e you can enter the correct PIN.
To reset the PIN permanently, does need a call to customer services.
Try the last four digits of the viewing card.
This is now a real issue, with the latest software upgrade,as if you have set parental controls on,to access OTHER CHANNELS,needs a PIN.
If you accidentally enter the wrong PIN 3 times, means you cant even access OTHER CHANNELS,until the 10 minute lockout has elapsed.

tried the last 4 digits didn't work. What would sky be likely to do if I called them about it, being as I technical illegally bought the card?

Another alternative is that the PIN can be reset online at MySky.com
I'm not certain whether you have to be an existing Sky subscriber or not.
You could also try ringing the FreesatfromSky telephone number instead, and just say that you've forgotten your PIN,as anyone can buy a FreesatfromSky card.(up to 4 per household)
You could say a friend/family member bought it as a gift.

I took it that it was an ex-subscription card that you bought.

I think you're going to have to spend £20 and get a freesat from sky card,
if you want the problem solved. Like everything else to do with sky I doubt if there is a way to hack it.

Come to think of it, I don't know my pin either, bol0x!
