Novice looking for help and advice

Hi

I have a standard Sky box, a flat screen (Acer) TV and a PC running Vista Home Premium. My plan was to link everything together so that I can use Vista Media Centre to store, select and play audio CDs and DVDs through the 5.1 sound system. All that is working perfectly.

I can't fugure out how to set up the Sky box and TV so that I can watch TV programmes and play the sound through the PC to take advantage of surround sound. There seems to be no way to connect the Sky box to the PC, so my solution would be to have the Skybox connected to the Tv and then route the sound from the Tv into the PC.

How do I do this, or am I missing something obvious? I don't particularly want to have the PC set up so that all programmes go via the PC to the TV as I have no real wish to record programmes onto the PC hard drive - all I want is the option to have some SKy programmes (such as movies) with decent sound via the PC 5.1 surround sound system.

Any ideas?
