Default are these traceable?

alright guys, how you all doing, new to all this stuff but glad as its well worth it but just womdering if these boxes are traceable through your cable provider (my case v****n).

i have a eurovox max 2008 and just the connection,i dont have a basic tv package through the company i just have the phone and broadband and the guy fitted a splitter for me so i could put the box in (he was a good guy) but can the cable company tell what i am watching or do they just see i have phone and broadband and is that why they scramble the channels,to stop this kind of thing, supposedly the eurovox updates itself so thats good.

sorry if is shouldnt be asking this kind of thing but i'm new to the forum.

Are you saying that the engineer fitted a splitter so that you could install a Eurovox or do you mean a set top box ? I dont know if Virgin can "see a box at the end of a feed" or not but I know for sure that when I worked for BT you can see if anything is fitted on their lines,so its possible that if they wanted to,they might just have a way who knows ? they can of course see their own boxes and interact with them, but that is because they have a return path fitted ...

Hi

i'm not sure how true this is but some 1 told me that because you have at least some form of feed back coming of your line (broadband) that they think the connection is ok but i wouldn't take this as gospel, but would imagine if they could tell that alot of people would have been found. think problem might arise if there was no feed on the line if that makes sense
