Default Splitter problem

Hi, i'm new to these forumns, but have had a good read through to answer some of the teething problems i had when setting up my eurovox max 2008 a few months ago.
my set up is simply a V****n connection (ex N*L) and we have a splitter so the signal goes between the tv and my cable modem.

ok, i've had my eurovox 2008 a few months tops now, and recentley some of the channels have become very dodgy. keeps breaking up, popping sounds etc.
tried doing a re-scan, didnt help.
unplugged the splitter and plugged the eurovox straight to the N*L point, did another power scan and everything was fine. as soon as i re introduced the splitter, the problems were there again.
do i need a new splitter, and if so, where would i get one?
i dont think its a signal issue, because this had not been a problem in the past, only started happening in the last few days.
help!
i've seen some splitters for sale on E bay, but didnt know if i required a specific one!
Thanks for your help and time.

Have you tried the latest firmware with the booster turned on - that may cure it.

Just found out, if I unplug the modem from the splitter, the TV works fine.

Does this still sound like a splitter problem?

There are iffy splitters about thats for sure, had some myself ....this here is the sort of thing you need,2 Way Cable TV Splitter KIT Eurovox Starview Ntl T/west on eBay, also, Other Satellite Cable, Satellite Cable Freeview, Consumer Electronics (end time 28-Nov-07 10:23:56 GMT) reasonably priced as it includes two patch leads,I make no promise this will cure your problem though as despite what you might think, you might still have a signal problem, like for instance borderline, local conditions can differ for all sorts of reasons at any time and if that is the case a booster should cure the problem, how are the pictures from your set top box to the tv are they OK? ....

Thanks,
i've ordered a new splitter, hopefully that will sort it. i really have doubts its a signal thing, as it used to work fine, and it still does without the splitter, or if only the eurovox is plugged into the splitter.
i shall let you know how i get on!

It could be that someone in your street has had a low signal and the VM tech has moved you to a lower connection to move the other person to a higher connection in the street cabinet

If you get one of the Yellow boosters with talkback, it would go as early as possible. If you have a standard TV amp, it wants to after you have split your subscribed boxes.
