Default Can my Telewest remote control be programmed to adjust the volume of my AV Receiver?

I have already programmed my (silver) Telewest cable remote control to adjust the volume of my tv and mute it, by using a 4 digit code.
But now I have added a Yamaha RX-V461 av receiver into the system I would like to be able to adjust the volume of my surround sound with the telewest remote.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks
