My main problem was not really understanding what I was doing before going out to spend money firstly, that I don't really have and secondly, that my wife didn't want me to spend in the first place.
![]() We had a Sky+ box. I thought that £18-odd a month was too much to spend on a service where I couldn't actually find anything worth watching. I switched to a Virgin XL package [with phone, broadband, etc] but within a week couldn't stand any more of looking at the folks from Legoland on my screen [Samsung 40" lcd]. How do they get away with such a bad picture ? At the same time, I bought a Sony SVR-S500 hard drive so that my wife could keep her twin tuner benefits and an Ellion dvd recorder so that I could record what I wanted. When I couldn't tune in the Sony I contacted the internet seller who shocked me by telling me it would only record Freeview channels. I now have a Eurovox Max V and am looking for some kind soul on here to point me in the right direction......... What can I buy that will record from the Eurovox that will also [hopefully] have the benefits of the Sky+ box, ie, recording one channel while watching another? Which will also allow 'live' pause? That will allow storage of programmes ? All tips, I assure you, will be gratefully received and you may just be helping save a marriage or bankrupcy. ![]() |

I use Windows MCE to control my TV - FANTASTIC! It does all the stuff like Sky+ (pause live, record etc). It will record one station whilst viewing another, but you do need a dual tuner card and two Eurovox boxes............

Hi sib321,
I feed my eurovox scart to my dvd recorder & then onto my tv. Have recorded from eurovox successfully & my phillips dvd hd recorder has the facility to pause live programmes for up to 6 hrs. Meanwhile if recording from eurovox I can still watch normal terrestrial channels on the tv. Hope this works for you ![]() |
