Never seen this before - LCD + Screen blank

Hello everyone..

I got myself a new dbox (a nokia one for a change). However, I am having huge issues trying to do anything with it. If I plug it in and power it up all I get is a blank screen on the lcd (on the box) and a blank screen on the tv. Usually never had this with my sagem boxes. I was able to flash those using IFA but can't get anywhere with this one. I am using the andromeda image so the image should be ok for a nokia box. Is this normal with nokia boxes? have i got a duff box? Can anyone assist with getting this box up and running? Any assistance would be grately appreciated.

does the flash image assistant logo come on the lcd when you are flashing?

have you opened up the box to check if the lcd ribbon is connected ok
does the box work ok with no lcd display it may just be you need a new lcd can get them of fleebay

if you just bought it and its not working send it back as faulty

i naively bought it privately from a guy in germany.. so might be hard to send it back if it is duff..

I always get a blank lcd display on the box and also on the tv.. i can't get to any of the dbox menus.. always blank..

have not tried opening it though to check connections..

so the image flashing assistant logo doesnt appear while flashing.on the tv or the lcd?

nope.. all i get is a blank screen on both...

i know there is power to the dbox because i can see the led flashing when i mess about with the remote... I can't use any of the remote functions like dbox, home, ok etc..

I get this message when in IFA when the image process starts..

also, it can not ping the dbox so not to sure whats going on and where to start...

it sounds like you want to get it sent back to me. read a faq about when putting the box in debug mode and it sounds like it could have been done wrong there and theres no going back if it breaks at that point.or unless you could buy n try a new lcd but if thew tv isnt getting the boot logo for fia then that would suggest to me that it isnt the lcd thats the problem n the box may well be a duff.you wont be able to ping the box as thee ip address may have changed or doesnt boot network when u switch it on after its been flashed.do you know if its 1 chip or 2?

mind you tho i have debugged quite a few boxes myself n neva encountered a problem but you have to put in the right commands or it messes up

I think its two chips.. How can I verify? Can you assist over msn maybe? or I can call you? any help would be great cos I think i got a duffy here!!

you want to take the case off the box and look for to amd or intel chips or just one on its own.tell me what u see.i think nokias only have 2 chips but ive got an old or maybe a clone nokia with 1 n no ethernet
