Hi,
My serial to serial works fine on my TM box but I've just bought a USB to RS232 cable (needed for new PC). I have got so far... 1. Control Panel, System, Update Driver, (scanned CD-ROM), driver loaded ok 2. Shows up as "Prolific Serial to USB Comm Port (COM4)" 3. Using TM Loader it detects an active line on COM4.... insofar as it gets to "Connect your receiver and turn it on" Box is connected and switched on... but I'm not getting the... "v.2 detected.. Start?" Any ideas PS - hopefully irrelevant... its a USB to to male...so the male end goes into one of the female ends of my serial to serial cable. |

Hi parkinpants,
The connection is not being detected. You will get the same message if you don't have the cable connected. |

Hi, I am using a similar device.
If I remember correctly I had a few problems getting mine working, but somehow did eventually, proabably more by luck than judgement. ![]() You could try setting it to a different COM port that might work. I assume that you are pressing the 'Auto detect' on the loader software. |

Tried every COM port 1-12 and tried Auto Detect. Auto Detect goes to COM port 4 (shown on System Settings) but flickers between COM 3 and COM4.
Tried different USB port and no success... changes to COM5 though. |

the manufacturer is HL and its made in China. Can't find any website, no manual or anything. Web adverts state that it is fully compliant with USB 1.1 .... wonder if it is because I have USB 2.
