Default Auxillary Device failure

hi all,

i have a dell 100L laptop that has developed a problem. The screen disappears either when the laptop is powering up or when its on and im using it. i f the screen/top moves slightly then it goes off too. fn and f8 wont do anything (its not f10 on this laptop) cant do anything on this laptop . once when i booted up i got an 1832 : auxillary device failure message. im sure it said 1832. Sometimes the powerlight even flickers when it goes off but i can hear the fan on. is this a fan problem or perhaps a motherboard.

thanks for your help

Hi Doc,

Found this (Click on "view solution" when the page loads) and this

It's about a desktop problem but might help you with your laptop too.
