A festive hello to one and all. Really friendly site you've got goin here, don't see that many people gettin banned...which is a good thing cos i'm prob gonna ask some right d1ckhead questions....
just researching how i'll go about 'modifying' the pace 1000 stb that i've come across.All help gratefully recieved,rewarded and reciprocated.
Also looking at gettin a eurovox max v.
Anyway, with regards to the mushroom cloud...thats probably what you'll see out of your window when i've plugged my modded stb in!
So get 999 on speed-dial!

thanks for your reply reddiesel. i've been reading up quite a bit on eurovoxes and i'd pretty much decided that lincsat will be the man when i take the plunge. i emailed him the other day with a few q's about them but as yet haven't had a reply.

can i pick your brains about my pace 1000 box?
its got the original 'EmptyHell' card with it which is a rom11 bod.
i know the bk and ird, so i guess i'll have to unlock it and reprogramme it with some files for my area.
would a dynamite plus usb programmer be able to unlock it and reprog it or will i have to buy a separate unlooper to unlock it?
any help on what files i'll need would be gladly accepted

The dynamite + is a very good programmer, thats the one i use. To open a bod you need an unlooper, if you already have details bk and ird. You can just programme a funcard {about a fiver } you dont need to unlock the rom.
I expect lincsat will wrap it fantastic, lol

thanks reddiesel. that sounds like you're saying its a bit of a no-brainer then. if you are then its good news a-go-go! if its that easy then why do peeps use a mosc rather than funcard etc?
what type of funcard should i go for there seems to be so many out there 2,3,4 or 5 do these all do similar things? what about titanium cards etc

Its that easy if you already have the details, traders and those who do a lot of boxes use mosc generaly because its cheaper and less work than jtagging and other methods, once you have your unlooper set up. a few years ago you needed a teired card like mosc tit or opus to get films, now its a different set up and you can use fun or atmega.
You can use a fun 2 with a rom image and chaos v3 flash.
Or a fun 4 or above with the charlie senator files, or toxic, with same flash.
No i dont get any commission lol.
you need a fun 4 or above to set net id that file wont fit on a 2, you can use same card just reprogramme it.

am i right in saying that i can use libby to set the net id? i think i've got a copy of that along with the config file for a 1000 stb.

if i get a dynamite usb progger and a funcard 2 would this be sufficient? .

Read ciwans tut in downloads, dont worry it says fun 4 it fits on a 2, where it says put public keys in dont ,it stops it updating. or charlie senators au fun tut and files for a fun 4. I would go for a fun 4 just in case libby dont work, we use the net id v2 final editor files on a 4.the tut for that is in the sticky on the top of cable tv chat.

funnily enough i've just printed ciwans tut out. i'll have a look at all the other stuff too now that its opened up to me.
Gonna give lincsat a call re the eurovox in a bit, see if he can help with the fun4 card and progger too.

Has the download section only just been opened or will i have only just gained access too it....been lookin for ages cos its a bit of a catch 22 situation, you don't know what to ask cos you don't know what your looking for, and you can't build your post count cos you can't give anybody any info.
But i feel like i've got the wind at my back now.... so time to go for a ****.
