What sort of info gets sent from user to cable provider?

I find it amazing that this single cable can be used for broadband and to send 200+ tv channels down it!

Re Sky - Sky tv is only received by the satellite dish and when your box wants to talk to Sky it uses the phone line, right?

Cable is two way it works on different frequency signals, i think with this sort of question you really should buy a book.

You'll find that when analogue cable gets shut down, there'll be a lot of spare capacity for more data, TV channels or anything else they can think of.
