Your dish may be pointing at Astra 1 at 19E instead of Astra 2 at 28E.

Hi,
The best thing to do is to do a scan of the satellite that you are pointed to and to make a note of say 5 or 10 of the channels you are reciviing with a picture. Then compare those channels with what is listed on lyngsat to find out what satellite you are pointed to.

LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite

If you were at 19.2e for example you will need to swivel the dish left (east) by about 10 degrees and lower it a bit to get 28E.

No seem to be getting some of the channels on astra 2 but not the ones I want would the dish be too low down would putting it in different location make a difference . would the lnb be at the wrong angle should I be pointing it in the same direction as the sky dishes that are in the estate. These are all probably stupid questions but need help. Any suggestions

Could you give us more examples of which ones are you getting? and the frequency you are getting them on?

The dish could be too low downif there is an obstruction between th edish and the satellite.

What you need to do is align it properly first. A satellite finder meter, like the type Maplin do would make this task easier.

Use this site
SatLex Digital :: Technology :: Calculators :: AZ/EL Calculator

or DishPointer.com - Satellite Dish Pointer / Alignment Calculator with Google Maps

to get the correct skew offset angle for your location.

Yes the dish should be pointed the same way as Sky dishes if you want to receiver English Free to Air channels.

Hi all, might it be that his frequencies need to be updated in the box. Have the cold and just can't remember the correct terminology for what I am trying to say. What I mean is would he need to update his channel list.

Best regards to al and Merry Christmas Wez
