Hi!
I'm just wondering if I can receive channels from Astra 19.2E using another LNB. I already have one LNB on my 120 cm KU band dish, and it is pointing to 1 west. My position is: 46°05'13.69"N 19°38'12.65"E --1West's azimuth is 207.63° with an elevation of 33.30°, polarization: -18.79° --19.2E's: -azimuth: 180.88° -elevation:37.08° -polarization:-0.61 I don't really know how could I add that new LNB. Since Intelsat's and Astra's elevation is almost is the same this doesn't seem to be a big problem. I'm planning to add this new LNB early next year (I don't want to fix a dish again while it's snowing :-)) Last edited by sterbik; 03-12-07 at 10:43 PM. |

Hi Sterbik,
I think you might have a problem with the Nordic beam on 1W as you are right on the edge of the published footprint. Thor 2 at 0.8°W - LyngSat Maps Although the other two spots look OK:- Intelsat 10-02 at 1.0°W - LyngSat Maps Intelsat 10-02 at 1.0°W - LyngSat Maps All the Astra19.2E beams look OK for North Serbia where you are. So I think you might just do it, as for standard shaped dishes you can get 20 degree brackets (Triax do them for their TD range). Bigtee, one of our other members gets 1W to 28E on his Raven Gemini 90cm in the UK ( the Raven gemini is particularly good for multbracket use) If you have a problem, you could always motorise the dish instead if you had a problem with signal levels. Thanks for the info.
I don't want to buy a new dish, because my roof already looks like a radio station. ![]() I'm going to try to make a multi LNB Holder because there are no stores available where I could buy one. Once I saw a photo in which the LNB holder was a home-made product and it worked. The owner said that it haven't moved a mm. On the center of my dish is an LNB thats pointing to 1W, so the new LNB has to be a little to the right (if I'm looking from behind the dish). Am I right? |

If your dish is already lined up on 1W then to put 19.2E on as well, yes it will be to the right.
It won't be a liitle though, it will be about 20 degrees, which is about 20cm for a focal length of 0.6m. I think you are going to have to experiment a little, to see where the best place to point the dish is, it might be better to focus it right between the two satellites, so neither LNB is so far off the dish focal point. You could even put a 3rd LNB right between the other two, and focus that on some satellite in between like 9E. I'm not sure exactly what your dish looks like, but you don't always have to get a new one to motorise it. You can get motors that retrofit onto existing dishes. The moteck sg2100 DiSEqC motor for example or a Jaeger 99G (36V), I have read a couple of good reports on the Jaeger from other members here. The Sg2100 is one of the cheapest motors, but praised by many. Robbo ![]()
