Hi there guys, now this is maybe not the wright section but here goes, the wife wants a laptop and connected to the internet so this fits in with my developing hobbie, so the advice I'm looking for is what spec would be ideal for down loading patches etc transfering to reciever (I'll probably update to a better box in the near future) and memory etc or other features. I'm going to dig the hole for the pole this weekend and the weather says 'Pi*hing down' plenty of questions next week probably.
Thanks in advance, nice to know I'm not the only idiot fitting a motorised set up during the winter! |

Hi Caravan,
For downloading stuff to your receiver, any old spec Laptop will do. Ideally one with a serial port, although I think you will be hard-pressed to find one with one. You will probably have to use a USB to serial conveter. Just setting up another motorised system myself as it goes, just spent the day chopping down a couple of offending trees.
