The paving slabs would cost more than that pole. Anyway, who wants to do easy?

There is not space for one and they cost quite a bit too. I have only spent £16 total.

Just got to wait for the kids to disappear and it will all be setup tonight I hope.

Will post a picture when done.

Update, all up and running now.

A couple of pics below, showing the pole mount.

Amazingly, I just plonked the dish on the motor stub, put the motor on the pole, fixed the motor stub to the motor, lined it up roughly where I thought it should go for 1 W, and amazingly, without any adjustments, it is tracking the arc from 42E to 5W. I think that will do for tonight.

I need to chop a few more branches off before I go any further west.

Very funny.

I'll try and work out how to get it upright again sometime.

Hi guys, went down 2' 6" but not with out problems, discovered a land drain covered in hard core had to move over a bit and found an old gas pipe! had to scoop the hole out by hand as the hard core kept falling in.
My original estimate of 3 bags of postmix was way out as I now had a bigger hole so nipped down to the builder suppliers for three more, thats 120 kg's of mix and some of the hard core back in and chuckies to boot.
Had to mix this like mad as the water was draining away fast, anyway post in plumb a couple of slabs round it to work on and then rain! and it rained all day Sunday, will still need to brace pole due to weight of gear,
roll on next weekend.

The rain is a pain.

Everytime I went out to do something, down came the rain! Didn't let it put me off too much though, I carried on regardless.

Looking good robbo. The extra brickwork and concrete above ground sounded dodgy initially, but the photo has convinced me that it's adding something to the overall structure.

More pics when it's daytime!

The pole does look like it would be better positioned six inches to the left though

Yeah, I will swap the pics for daytime ones in the very near future.

I'm glad you're convinced, as I'm not

I just got sick of digging and wanted to get it finished.

It seems very firm though.

If I went any more left, the dish would hit the fence when I went too far east, I can just about do an elevation of 20 degrees minimum, before I'm looking at the fence opposite.
