Question Hackable GPS unit

Can anyone recommend a hackable dedicated GPS unit for use in car and out. I don't want to go down the PDA/mobile phone route. Ideally I want something for less than 100 quid that can be eventually 'upgraded' with proprietory mapping software and maps, and maybe MP3 player software, too.

I've heard good things about the MyGuide 3100 but I understand that official support may be negligible.

I mean getting access to the underlying operating system, or otherwise adapting the unit so that it can run software that did not come with it - for example running I-Go on a TomTom, or I-Go on a MyGuide.

Hope that's clear.

Yes, I heard that MyGuide have been bought out. Still plenty of spares and accessories if you know where to look, so I've bought one - lots of positive reviews on Ebuyer. It should arrive by the weekend.
