Default this sounds great, will this work?

hi, just found out you can do this on a pc and it sounds brill

im pretty ok with computers and was wondering if this would work before i upgrade

iv got a standard sky mini dish at my house, although i havent used it for years, if i buy one of those sat tuners for your pc and connect it to the mini dish would it work ok just now - until i upgrade to a motorised larger dish

what satalite pc card is best to buy - i really only want to watch the scottish footy thats not on setants (mostly celtic or rengers on a saturday at 3pm) but also some enlish games

how do you set this up and what software do you need

i cant beleve i found a site like this, i feel like a kid in a sweety shop

thanks all in advance and your advice will be much apreciated

first of all you need a DVB-S card, i havnt used many of these but what i do know is that technotrend cards work

also i have found out that the premium cards are better than the budget ones, especially if you have a slower pc

Hi Chaz, if you fit a sat card in your pc and have a dual or quad lnb on your sly dish then you will be able to watch all the free to air channels on the uk satellites.

I have a Skystar 2 card which is the best supported so far. However if you run Vista on your pc the PC sat card has a mind of its own. XP is fine.

You will not get any free to view channels like 4 and 5 or any sly channels without a viewing card and then you will need a link to a linux type sat receiver to read the card.

Good luck, its great fun and nothing is impossible.
