Can anyone help clarify some omissions in the published feature lists?
I am thinking of getting either the -TS model (despite the forthcoming obsolescence when we switch to mpeg4), or one of the -S models. First does the TV SCART socket have RGB output (only YUV is mentioned)? If so, does the VCR SCART socket pass through on standby? There is a model described as X221S CI USB, but no description of what the USB port will do - is it just for updating firmware and channel settings, or is this box PVR-ready for a memory stick or external disk? Finally, we should really be thinking about the environment and taking account of standby consumption when selecting any electronic gear. Any figures for this? |

yes the vantage x221tsci does have RGB on the scart socket as i have this selected in the menu
not tried the vcr pass through as i don't have a vcr anymore. not sure on the usb on the vantage, my model doesn't have this but presume its for updating firmware and viewing pictures etc from the usb memory stick on power consumption in standby the manual hasn't stated what it is

Thanks Wod.
The -TS is still a possibility then - I like the idea of having a single box instead of two (although I'll still need to keep the $ky dodgibox). Or I might go for a PVR-ready Technomate, if they get round to answering my query. So much choice... ![]() |
