Sorry but I have to disagree with you about HP. The amount of DV1000 and DV2000 I have seen with faulty motherboards is crazy. Just by typing in google dv2000 wont turn on

dv2000 wont turn on - Google Search=

Dv 1000

Dv8000 has a very bad keyboard problem. I have one and there is no fix even though they brought out bios updates to fix the problem.

The HP laptop are a nice looking laptop and thats about it stay well clear of them

My Toshiba Laptop has served me very well for nearly 5 years now, I would highly recommend them, in fact I just got my dad to buy one too. However if Monster is talking about Alienware I guess hes got some online gameing in mind, so I guess yes they are very good for gaming as far as i have heard.

It all depends on your needs, Alienware is focused towards the gaming market, and does that job very well!
But as with any laptop if one aspect is outstanding then something will always suffer as a concequence, usually to keep costs down. IE it may be a bit hevier that the competition, have a budget screen, lower res, less ram, anything really.
There is something out there for everyone, you just have to evaluate your lifestyle and fit the laptop around you, not try to fit your life round it!!
