How would I know if my 42" Plasma Tv is HD?

It has no HDMI inputs only a dvi input.

If I plugged my PS3 into the dvi input, would it give a better picture?

Ok its a 42" Hyundai HPTN-4200s

with the DVI input gives me 1280 x 1024/60 Hz

Component input gives me 750p(720p) 1125i(1035i,1080i)

I have a HDMI - DVI cable ordered for the PS3 to try.

Should be ok but dont forget dvi doesn't carry audio.

According to the specifications, the panel has a resolution of 853x480 so whilst it will accept a higher resolution picture it will be scaled to 480 vertical pixels so it is not HD capable.

DVI is digital, meaning there should be no image signal loss, so yes it should give a better picture, but it'd have to be fairly naff before to tell the difference
