hi, just ordered my whole sat package, 95cm motorized dish and a patched technomate 1500ci+ (with a 5 cams installed)
i went for the 1500ci+ as it was already patched and said it has all the cams i could want i was wondering if i had to buy a 5400 how hard are they to patch the 1500 i bought said it comes with 5 cams installed, and as robbo71 pointed out to me this would just be software that probably came in the patch so in theory if i buy a 5400 and do the patch i would get the same or more than the 1500ci+.......... right? also where do you get the patchies from? and do they cost money your wise words are very apreciated guys, and as my package is getting delivered tommorrow, hopefully i will be up and runnng within 24 hrs, thanks again |

In essence the 5400 and the 1500 are basically the same animal apart from the 5400 has the ability to record as a PVR and has a bigger channel storage capacity
![]() You will find the patches on the Alsat Forum and they are free ![]() With regard to the cams, you will find that all the box can do is emulate the cams using software, it hasn't actually got 5 cams installed, the TM won't do Sky (NDS) either as far as i'm aware ![]() The 5400 probably will only open the same amount of stuff as the 1500 will ![]() ![]() Nano

The only receivers i know which can receive Sky are The Vantage range of receivers, and Linux based receivers like the the Dreambox, TM9100, & the Mutant relook range
These however normally need a valid Sky subscriber card. The only other way is by Card share but you will need a CS capable receiver. The Dreambox is a good candidate for this ![]() ![]() Nano
