need info on slingbox - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

Hi,

A friend of mine just moved into an apartment and has no choice in what provider he can get and is unhappy with the only service available.

Anyway after thinking about it for a while I was wondering if a slingbox might be the answer he is looking for.

If he sets up a slingbox in his mothers house, attached to a N*L box (or Eurovox) and connected to a 2MB connection (256k up I think) and then sets up his PC in his new appartment (4MB connection I think), will he be able to access all of the channels available in his mothers house? Is it worth setting up or will the reception be any good?

Any info at all would help as I don't really know much about Slingboxes.
