I just used that as an example. It wasn't my correct ip. I do not have internet serviceon my pc. I use my workes pc to get .bins. i go to run/ipconfig and it flashes on my screen. 192.xxx.xxx.xxx 255.255.0.0

I don't have something configured correctly.

Ok m8, sorry I took your post literally. A lan subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. Is that where your problem might be? All devices on the network must have the same IP group with only the last numbers different and must have the same subnet mask.

Hi Jim,

just when I thought the box was going in the bin - hey presto - managed to download the Gemini 4.2 image and uploaded to box with dreamuplan ! confidence restored ! The problem now ( I have searched but cannot find the answer ) is that I still cannot get the box to do an internet update for the cam and keys that I need. Even with the new image I am still getting the error message 404 that I told you about. So my latest question is : if I download cam & keys files, can I transfer these to the box in the same way that i ( eventually ) managed to upload the 4.2 image or is there some other way that I have to do this. Help appreciated as always, if I have missed an obvious answer to this query I'll be happy to be pointed in the right direction, I'm getting used to searching now !

my subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and my gateway is 255.255.0.0 do i need to change my subnet to mach my gateway or should i change gateway to mach subnet mask. or will it work the way i have it

Hi Hardknocks,

from what I have learnt here your netmask is ok but your nameserver and gateway need to be the same as your IP: DHCP unchecked and network enabled. It worked for me - eventually. Good luck

Hi Mike, if you can, download a .tar.bz file for the emu you want and ftp it to the root/temp folder. Via setup > manual install and it will find the .tar.gz file and install it for you. After that, reboot the Dreambox and the emu should work ok.

While you are at it, you can unrar the .tar.gz file and see the files and where they go. All useful for future installations. If your Dreambox is connected to the internet via a router, you can download and install the emu via the blue button.

when i go to download the new emu from the blue button there are like 15 of them. do i go with the newest date. and do i need to download anything else from the download menu to get it to work.. Like config or key files

I would recommend CCcam 2.08 although we all have our favourites. After you have downloaded and installed the emu you need to download and install the keys for that emu. Keys can change daily so I recommend installing a plugin like satan updater or Hacksat which allow the keys to be updated with a couple of remote button presses.

Dont forget after installing the emu you need to reboot the dreambox and then select the emu via the blue button.

your saying it will not roll by itself. so when i need the new keys i just go into download mannager and download them. i was using opencam0.15 and it roled good till yesterday
